Rohan, a former Machine Learning researcher at Google and Waymo, founded Penguin AI with the mission of revolutionizing the AI landscape. After successfully navigating Y Combinator, Rohan brought on John as the COO, assembling a star team to execute this ambitious vision. As competition in the AI space intensified, the need for speed became paramount. In response, Penguin AI turned to us, First Mate Technologies (FMT), to help tackle their growing backlog of customer requests.

In specific, Rohan was looking for a software engineering team that could work across the stack—from the frontend, to the backend, and even their AI engine. In this way, any customer feature request that Penguin AI received could be handled. Additionally, he wanted a team that genuinely cared about the success of the company like his own team did. He sensed that we could achieve both those goals.

Development Journey

We diligently worked with Penguin AI’s engineering team, building and revamping various features—most notably:

• Workflows: automates a sales representative with generative AI by connecting intent signals from their chatbot to customers’ outbound sequencing tools
• Question Feed: tracks questions asked to their chatbot, giving users insights what site visitors are interested in.
• Integrated customers’ own CRM forms into Penguin AI’s Chatbot directly.
